The ignition switch has two halves, and they lock together on the steering column with tamper proof bolts (bolt head is broken off). There are two ways to remove it: drill into the bolt and use a screw extractor (I spent half a day drilling into the %$^@# bolts), or wedge a bar between the seam of the two halves and break it apart (never tried this, and it may damage the switch).
